ABOUT US

HISTORY OF THE AFSC

The African Seismological Commission (AfSC) is a scientific organisation launched in 2014 by the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI) as a regional commission of the IASPEI.

The IASPEI comprises many commissions and working groups, including the AfSC and other regional seismological commissions. The IASPEI is one of 8 commissions under the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG).
